For many products in your inventory, if you use Silo reliably, your team can start to stop worrying about stock levels, as the system will know and predict when stock is running low based on your normal usage rate, cases being marked as Consumed, and re-orders.
However, there are occasions where your team may want you to know that re-ordering is necessary or urgent. For this reason, Silo allows Users to Request re-orders, and Admins to add Products to a Draft Order.
Users can request a Re-Order through the mobile app. Visit the Inventory screen, and either scroll to, or search for a Product manually or with the camera, using the camera button.
This will pull up the Product's page, and allow you to Request a re-order of the Product.
On the desktop, admins can add a Product to a Draft Order by clicking the Add to Draft Order button on the right-hand side of the Inventory list. The icon color indicates the state of the product — hover over with the mouse for a reminder.
Requesting Re-Order vs Adding to Draft Order
While these actions are called two different things, they perform the same function: Products are added to a Draft Order with the Vendor defined for that Product.
Remember, a Draft Order still needs to be placed by an Admin for it to go through. Users are not able to actually place orders with Vendors - this is a function for Admins only.
