Silo gives you the flexibility to track and accurately stocktake the different item types used in your business.
Setting Item Type
By default, Products are set to Consumables by the Case as their item type.
If you'd like to use a different Item type for your Product, you can specify a different Item Type in the CSV import, or on the Item Details page after import.
On the Item Details page, Item Type appears in the Settings list. Change to a different Item Type and save the page to update this setting.
How Item Type affects Stocktaking
The Item Type affects how stocktaking controls appear for that item. For example, Weight or Volume items allow the user to specify what percentage of that item remains during stocktake.
